In the winter of 2020, I painted a digital landscape study capturing an interesting weather phenomenon—the hazy snow days that turn the sun into a dull orange circle. It turned out to be the perfect fit for my cover design of The Trouble with Daydreams, a poetry collection by Mark Vinz.
Vinz noted he was fond of “the contrast between the bright sun vs. the snowy sky and prairie, which seems to fulfill the main contrast of the poems.”
